Gavin Newsom
Lieutenant Governor
State of California

Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom has focused his efforts in Sacramento on economic development and job creation, improving access to higher education and maintaining California’s environmental leadership since he was elected to the position in 2010. Newsom comes from a successful background in local government as well as the private sector, where he started 15 small businesses, creating more than 1,000 jobs.

John Chiang
Controller
State of California

California State Controller John Chiang is well known for directing the State’s finances into a more transparent and accountable process as well as weeding out waste, fraud and abuse during one of the most difficult economic downturns the state has seen in decades. Serving in this role since 2007, Chiang is an incredibly powerful voice in Sacramento and has led efforts to reform the State’s public pension systems, helped local governments navigate difficult economic times and protected California’s precious natural resources.


Sam Blakeslee
Senator
State of California

State Senator Sam Blakeslee is known for being one of the Legislature’s most bipartisan and influential leaders in Sacramento. A local businessman and financial planner, Blakeslee has served in the State legislature since 2004. Elected by his colleagues to serve as Assembly Minority Leader, Blakeslee helped forge bipartisan compromise on spending reforms, the budget and a resolution to the state's 30 year water crisis.


Fred Keeley 
California Forward

California Forward is one of the most influential statewide organizations working on substantive reforms in Sacramento.  California Forward Board Member, Fred Keeley, formerly served as California State Assembly Speaker pro Tempore and was appointed the chief operating officer for the Assembly during the energy crisis in 2000 and 2001. Mr. Keeley is a frequent lecturer at various universities in the state focusing on California state government, politics and a variety of environmental topics.


George Soares
Kahn, Soares
and Conway, LLP

Government Advocate George Soares is known as a powerful leader in Sacramento. The Cal Poly grad was named 18th on the top 100 list of most influential political players in California by Capitol Weekly. Soares is a founding member and managing partner of Kahn, Soares and Conway, LLP, responsible for influencing thousands of legislative proposals including the largest tax relief package ever for California agriculture.
