Face off in SLO politics
See SLO’s mayoral candidates in a rare face-to-face appearance and mini-debate. Dave Romero is campaigning to keep his seat in the mayor’s office, which he’s held for six years. Terry Mohan is a truck driver whose concerns over the Nacimiento Water Project and downtown development spurred him to run for office. |
It takes ten thousand villages

You’ve probably heard the term “fair trade,” but what does it really mean? Elizabeth Aebischer, who is raising money to open a non-profit Ten Thousand Villages fair-trade store in SLO, will explain fair trade, what it does for artisans from underdeveloped countries and how you can make a difference. |
Diversifying its portfolio: A special expanded session with PG&E
Roy Kuga, vice president of energy supply for PG&E, will discuss the utility’s progress toward new renewable energy standards. He’ll also address the solar projects proposed for the Carrisa Plains through the lens of today’s regulatory environment. Kuga will give an expanded presentation and take questions in a special session at 9 a.m., immediately following Good Morning SLO. |
Survey says …

As a prelude to the election just a couple weeks away, take part in a live audience vote on the presidential candidates. Chuck Anders of Strategic Initiatives, a consulting company based in Arroyo Grande, will use devices like those used on television shows to poll the audience. At the end of the program, he’ll present a synopsis of the results. |
Even Daddy gets the blues
The rippin’ licks of Big Daddy’s Rhythm and Blues may just make you want to get up and boogie. The SLO-based band is known for motivating California audiences young and old to dance and have a good time. You may recognize them from Concerts in the Plaza and many other local venues or as the opening act for performers such as Howlin Wolf. |
Special session following Good Morning SLO
Registered GMSLO guests are invited to a special, follow-up session with PG&E Vice President Roy Kuga. Kuga will give an expanded version of his earlier remarks concerning the coming energy regulations, the impact of those regulations on PG&E as well as local businesses and on the proposals for solar farms in the Carrisa Plains. The event, at 9 a.m. in the Fireside room at Grace Church, is free but seating is limited to registered Good Morning SLO guests.
