Health Care Task Force
Mission: To recommend Chamber responses to health care issues affecting our members.
Policy Platform
Identify and support positive incentives for businesses to insure employees and encourage employers to offer health insurance to their employees.
Support initiatives streamlining existing healthcare regulations to increase efficiency and reduce overall administration burdens.
Oppose government attempts to impose unreasonable and/or unfunded mandates on the health care system.
Support federal and state reforms that would allow small businesses to obtain mutually beneficial group health coverage and increased tax advantages.
Support efforts to increase Medicare reimbursement rates for health care providers in San Luis Obispo County to be consistent with other urban counties.
Encourage employers to support wellness programs and to promote healthy lifestyle choices among their employees.
Encourage employees to become informed health care consumers and to take personal responsibility for their health and lifestyle choices.
