SUMMARY:FINE ART CHINESE BRUSH PAINTING
DESCRIPTION:Jarien de Ham began Chinese brush painting in 2002 with a class offered at Cuesta College. Bird and Flower painting\, one of the four genres of Chinese painting\, drew her in. Then came Calligraphy and classes in China that covered Landscape and Figure painting. While we are a long way from China here on the Central Coast\, many elements revered in China are here — cypress trees with their irregular balance\, foggy atmosphere\, fish and birds which are subjects of her paintings.

SUMMARY:FINE ART DRAWING
DESCRIPTION:Linda likes to draw inspiring natural scenes—coastal panoramas\, oak covered hillsides\, flowers and wildlife. While she’s always enjoyed drawing and art\, she learned to draw well while studying landscape architecture in college. In 1998\, she began focusing her artistic efforts on colored pencil drawing and has slowly built up her portfolio. \nEach picture takes about 20 to 25 hours to complete\, depending on the complexity of the background. She starts with a line drawing\, slowly building up multiple layers of color to achieve the depth and intensity she’s looking for. Linda lives with her family in the mountains between Morro Bay and Atascadero.

The evening changed his life. The instant and passionate love she sparked in Berlioz did not lead at first to the relationship he pursued but did inspire him to write what the great annotator Michael Steinberg has called “the most remarkable First Symphony ever written.” \nDon’t miss this most autobiographical of symphonies in a visceral performance. Witness the composer’s dreams\, the vision of his beloved across a crowded dance hall\, his lonely musings and finally his hallucinogenic vision of his own execution and the grotesque celebration that follows. \nTickets ($12 and $14 general\, $9 and $12 students)
