DESCRIPTION:A Christmas Market is a street market centered around celebrating the holiday season. The history of Christmas Markets goes back to the Late Middle Ages! Markets originated in Europe but are now being held in many other countries. In many towns in Germany and Austria\, the holiday season is opened with the traditional Christmas Market or “Weihnachtsmarkt.” Generally held near the town square\, the market sells food\, drink\, and seasonal items from open-air stalls\, accompanied by traditional singing and dancing. \nThe Cambria Christmas Market’s many unique offerings include tempting local food and drink\, with brats\, fresh baked good and treats\, and Glühwein\, our traditional German hot spiced wine – guaranteed to keep you cozy while wandering through Winter Wonderland!

SUMMARY:Downtown SLO Presents: The 42nd Annual Holiday Parade
DESCRIPTION:Start off the holiday season with one of the community’s most beloved holiday spectacles. Downtown SLO invite the public to its 42nd Annual Holiday Parade in Downtown San Luis Obispo on Friday\, December 1st at 7 PM. This year’s parade theme is “Holiday Hoedown”\, and Downtown SLO and hundreds of parade participants will be getting into their one-horse open sleighs and dashing through the streets of Downtown San Luis Obispo.\nBob Douglass\, the former owner of SLO Luggage\, will serve as the Parade Marshal for the 42nd Annual Holiday Parade. The parade features bright floats\, festive marching bands\, classic carolers\, skateboarding elves\, and Santa himself. The parade route is nine blocks long starting on Chorro at Palm and ending on Higuera at Nipomo. The parade is the largest on the Central Coast and attracts upwards of 10\,000 spectators. \nParade entries will be competing for Best in Theme\, Most Creative\, and Most Entertaining. Ten parade announcers will be stationed along the nine-block parade route ensuring every spectator has a front row seat. This event is free\, family-friendly\, and open to the public. Applications to be a part of the parade are available HERE. Applications are due November 3\, 2017 at noon.

DESCRIPTION:8 p.m.\, Spanos Theatre \nTickets ($14 general\, $9 students and Jazz Federation members) \nThe University Jazz Bands perform regularly at events such as the Jubilee by the Sea jazz festival in Pismo Beach in October and the Strawberry Festival in Arroyo Grande in May\, as well as at Spanos Theatre and Harman Hall of the Performing Arts Center. The repertoire ranges from that of Count Basie\, Duke Ellington\, Tito Puente and Tower of Power\, to advanced cutting-edge repertoire as recorded and performed by the most acclaimed jazz ensembles.
