SUMMARY:The Great American Melodrama Presents: Unnecessary Farce
DESCRIPTION:UNNECESSARY FARCE\nBy Paul Slade Smith \nMarch 14 – April 28 \nTwo cops. Three crooks. Eight doors. Go! The hysterical comedy Unnecessary Farce by Paul Slade Smith arrives at The Great American Melodrama on March 14. Featuring some of the Melodrama’s funniest actors\, Unnecessary Farce is sure to tickle event he most fickle funny-bones. “This is a show for people who love big laughs and big characters\,” says Dan Schultz\, the Melodrama’s Artistic Director.  \nLike all farces\, the convoluted plot sets up a series of hilarious misunderstandings. Set in a cheap motel room\, an embezzling mayor (Billy Breed) meets with his female accountant (Rebecca Tucker). In the next room\, two cops (Eleise Moore and Nick Wilder) wait to catch the meeting on video. But there’s some confusion as to who’s in which room and who’s taken the money. Then things go to another level when the Scottish hit man with anger issues shows up. This show is truly laugh-a-minute. Some content may not be appropriate for little kids\, so the show is rated PG. \nFollowing every performance of Unnecessary Farce is the brand new vaudeville revue\, The Jungle Adventure. Put together by Melodrama favorite Katie Worley Beck\, it’s a musical trip into the jungle primeval. You’ll meet a witch doctor\, take a jungle cruise\, and see Tarzan and Jane like never before.  Featuring song\, dance\, and comedy\, The Jungle Adventure is the perfect end to a night of great theatre. \nThese shows play March 14 – April 28. Performances are Wednesday through Fridays at 7 pm\, Saturdays at 3 and 7 pm\, and Sundays at 6 pm. The Melodrama’s in-house snack bar features great food and drinks served before the show and during intermissions. Tickets are $23 to $30\, with discounts available for groups\, seniors\, students\, active military\, and children. For more information and to purchase tickets\, call the Melodrama Box Office\, at 805-489-2499\, or visit www.americanmelodrama.com. The Great American Melodrama is located on Highway 1 in Oceano\, just three miles south of Pismo Beach. Come see their brand new box office building across from the theatre\, you can’t miss it.  The Melodrama has been providing professional family entertainment on the Central Coast since 1975. \n  \n

SUMMARY:The Fremont Theater Presents: CHRISTOPHER CROSS – TAKE ME AS I AM 2019 TOUR
DESCRIPTION:Join us at The Fremont Theater in downtown SLO on Friday\, April 19 for Christopher Cross on the Take Me As I Am 2019 Tour! \nTickets on sale Wednesday\, February 12 PM \nChristopher Cross Ticket & Merch Bundle – VIP Package Description: \n\n1 (One) Premium Ticket\n1 (One) Signed CD\n1 (One) Exclusive VIP Christopher Cross Hat\n\n  \n♦ SHOW INFORMATION ♦ \nDoor Time- 7:00 PM\nShow Time- 8:00 PM\nAll Ages \n♦ TICKET OUTLETS ♦ \nBoo Boo Records\n978 Monterey St • SLO\nMon-Wed 10-8\, Thurs-Sat 10-9\, Sun 11-6 \n♦ BAND INFORMATION♦ \nChristopher Cross made history with his 1980 self-titled debut album\, winning five Grammy Awards\, including—for the first time ever—the four most prestigious awards: Record of the Year (for the single “Sailing”)\, Album of the Year\, Song of the Year (also for “Sailing”)\, and Best New Artist. \nNow\, 30+ years after his extraordinary emergence into the music business\, Cross continues his recording and performing career with a new album\, Take Me As I Am\, that evokes the artistry of such great singer-songwriters as Joni Mitchell and Randy Newman while addressing contemporary concerns head-on – a combination which is sure to please his loyal fan base. \n“Take Me As I Am” is a unique offering from Christopher Cross\, a hybrid of sorts – the songs are instrumentals with choruses to create the lyrical landscape. This is not quite a “guitar” album\, but it leaves the listener with no question about his expertise on the subject. Two very special songs are “Roberta\,” dedicated to Christopher’s mentor\, Joni Mitchell\, and “Truth” with a lyric by Rob Meurer\, one of the last songs Rob wrote before his tragic passing. This song is sung as a duet with Gigi Worth\, a name that will be familiar to Christopher’s fans. Gigi and Rob were also very close\, which makes her performance on this track all the more meaningful. The album closes with a song in memory of Rob called “Alvah\,” (Rob’s middle name)\, which features beautiful string arrangements by Chris Walden. \nIn Christopher’s words\, “It was a blessing to work with all these talented folks in the making of this album which holds so many bittersweet emotions for me. I didn’t expect to make another one\, but\, as Rob reminded me once\, it’s what we do.”
