DESCRIPTION:Each year\, the Weyhrich Leadership Awards recognize local high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership potential and community dedication. The committee has selected eleven seniors from San Luis Obispo County high schools to each receive a $2\,750. The award ceremony provides an opportunity to celebrate the awardees and honor Richard J. Weyhrich and is open to the public. Media is encouraged to attend. \nThe Weyhrich Scholarship award is intended to honor Richard J. Weyhrich. As a West Point graduate who served in Japan and Korea. Mr. Weyhrich’s experience during his service gave way to his passion for leadership and inspiration to identify young leaders in the community and support their efforts. The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County works with many donors\, just like Richard J. Weyhrich\, to provide an opportunity to share their passions and lifestyles through personal and memorial scholarships.
