Visit the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm to experience the textural floral collection of this beautiful original artwork. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Artist Perez Salazar draws inspiration for the bounty and beauty of nature. He states about his oversized paintings\, “Flower blossoms have been the promise before the fruit. It is nature’s way of announcing its unfolding power to create and to deliver future nourishment … flowers have done so for thousands of years. The diversity and large amounts of blossoms fill and overflow the formal ground to the max\, producing heighten feelings of positive human emotions of plenitude and abundance.” \nImmerse yourself in these splendid paintings at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden. All pieces are for sale\, and proceeds benefit the Garden. \nJuan Manuel Perez Salazar resides on the central coast\, where he is an avid artist and gardener. His work has been displayed in\, Mexico\, India\, and throughout California. His studio practice explores boundaries of painting and sculpture\, crossing and transposing various modes of styles in search of his own images. The experiential and cultural associations of specific subjects and materials fuels his exploration. Inspired by the symbolism and beauty of the natural world\, he utilizes blossoms to seduce the observer to take pleasure in watching flowers bloom. Additionally\, he is a member of the Agriculture\, Business and Professions\, Utilities and Energy\, and Transportation committees.\n\nHe recently worked to secure $85 million to help SLO County communities mitigate the impacts of the Diablo Canyon closure as well as $197 million to fix the deadly “Y” intersection of Highways 41 and 46 in Cholame.

DESCRIPTION:The Cal Poly Brass Ensembles will present “All That Brass” at 7:30 p.m. Friday\, June 7\, at the San Luis Obispo United Methodist Church. \nIn addition to the large brass ensembles and brass quintets\, the Cal Poly Trombone Choir and a trio of faculty musicians will also perform. The trio consists of Christopher J. Woodruff\, trumpet; Jennifer Dodson Galvan\, horn; and Mark Miller\, trombone. \nCompositions by Eric Ewazen\, Johannes Brahms\, Francis Poulenc and many more will be performed. \nMiller directs the student ensembles. \nThe free\, public concert will be in the sanctuary of the church at 1515 Fredericks St. in San Luis Obispo. \nThe event is sponsored by Cal Poly’s College of Liberal Arts and Music Department.
