SUMMARY:Festival Mosaic | UnCLASSICAL SERIES: Ancient Future
DESCRIPTION:Led by guitarist Matthew Montfort\, Ancient Future is the first and longest running musical organization dedicated exclusively to the mission of creating world fusion music. Coined by Montfort\, the term world fusion music describes the group’s unusual blend of musical traditions from around the world. The performance will feature a quartet of musicians: Matthew Montfort on guitar\, Jim Hurley on violin\, Doug McKeehan on keyboards\, and Vishal Nagar on Indian tabla drums. \n\n\nSee Canyon Fruit Ranch \n2345 See Canyon Road \nSan Luis Obispo\, CA 93405 \nTIP: Gates to this outdoor venue open one hour before show time. Please carpool if possible. Table seating is available or you may bring your own chair for lawn seating. Picnics are welcome. Beer\, wine and snacks available for purchase. Be prepared for sunny conditions and varying temperatures. \nDue to regrettable circumstances\, virtuoso guitarist and multi-instrumentalist El Amir has been forced to withdraw from his engagement at Festival Mozaic on July 28\, 2019. As you can imagine\, international travel with six different instruments can be quite complex. Unfortunately\, El Amir has had to cancel his engagement due to complications with international travel logistics and with obtaining a visa work authorization from the United States government. While we are disappointed about canceling El Amir’s performance\, we are equally excited to announce that Ancient Future\, a world-music ensemble previously featured at the SLO Mozart Festival\, will replace El Amir at See Canyon. \n
