Enjoy tours of the clubhouse and view Atelier Morgan a national traveling exhibit of the work of Julia Morgan\, on loan from the Robert E. DESCRIPTION:  \nPublic Workshop Notice\nEconomic Opportunities and Impacts Relating to Diablo Canyon Power Plant Closure \nOn October 17\, 2019\, the Diablo Canyon Decommissioning Engagement Panel will host a public\nworkshop to discuss and gather public input on the economic opportunities and impacts\nrelating to the Diablo Canyon Power Plant closure. The input and suggestions offered during the\nworkshop will be available to PG&E\, local governments\, state agencies and community\norganizations who play a role in economic growth on the Central Coast. \n“It is our hope that the workshop will act as a catalyst to move forward with strategies and\nopportunities to address the loss of jobs and income resulting from the closure of the Diablo\nCanyon Power Plant. It’s important that these efforts are coordinated and that they begin\nimmediately\,” said workshop co-chairs Nancy O’Malley and Lauren Brown. \nThe workshop will provide the opportunity for the public to hear from PG&E\, San Luis Obispo\nCounty\, the Hourglass Project and other communities who have experienced similar economic\nlosses. Tom is actively involved in many local community organizations and\nis the incoming chairman of the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce and past chairman of the Sierra Vista\nRegional Medical Center Governing Board\, and Economic Vitality Corporation. \nGuy Savage currently serves as the Assistant County Administrative Officer for the County of San Luis\nObispo. Guy discovered his passion for public service when he created a non-profit organization\ndesigned to preserve and maintain a small\, privately-owned parcel that serves as the only community\npark in Los Olivos. He is currently helping our region solve problems related to the closure of Diablo\nCanyon\, mental illness\, aging infrastructure\, cannabis\, and more. \nDave Christy recently retired as Provost at Baruch College in the City University of New York and\nreturned to the Central Coast. He served as Dean of Cal Poly’s Orfalea College of Business from 2004-\n2013. Dave also served on the EVC Board\, Cancer Support Community\, and SLO County Economic\nForecast. \nMelissa James serves as President & CEO of the Hourglass Project. Before joining the Hourglass\nProject\, Melissa served as the Director of Economic Initiatives and Regional Advocacy at the San Luis\nObispo Chamber of Commerce\, where she worked on a variety of initiatives that gave birth to the\nHourglass Project. A Cal Poly graduate\, Melissa has compiled a proven track record of building\nhighly effective coalitions and teams focused on the intersection of public policy and economic\ndevelopment. She believes that innovative approaches and results-oriented coalitions are\ncritical to increasing economic opportunity for all Central Coast residents. \nAndrew Hackleman is the Vice President of Strategy for the Hourglass Project. Previously\, Andrew was\nthe Home Builders Association Executive Director. Andrew enjoys challenging problems and\ncollaborating on effective solutions. He has an extensive background in strategy\, analysis\, performance\nmeasurement and operational leadership\, and is a retired U.S. Air Force Officer. While in the military\,\nAndrew successfully led teams\, large and small\, on strategy\, analysis\, logistics and program\nmanagement experience\, including oversight of multi-billion-dollar projects. \nBob Linscheid is the Special Advisor to the President of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for Economic\nDevelopment\, leading the integration of economic development\, regional collaboration and business\nattraction for Tech Park initiatives at Cal Poly. He is the past President / CEO of the San Francisco\nChamber of Commerce and past Chairman of the Board of Trustees for California State University\,\nhaving served from 2005 to 2014. Currently Bob serves on the Board of the Hourglass Project. He\nreceived his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Public Administration from Chico State University and an\nHonorary Doctorate from San Francisco State. \n
