This session focuses on Hospitality and Retention. \nCharles Babinski has spent the last 16 years in the coffee industry. He started as a barista in New York before making his way to Intelligentsia in Chicago\, where he spent his time developing and executing a training program for some of the company’s best performing stores. The following year G&B opened its permanent location in downtown LA’s Grand Central Market\, home of the Best Latte in the US\, according to the New York Times. This move coincided with the opening of Glanville and Babinski’s other café concept\, Go Get Em Tiger in Larchmont. Seven years and seven stores later\, Charles’s focus has moved beyond the bar to developing GGET’s coffee sourcing\, roasting and training. With the expansion of GGET throughout Los Angeles\, Charles is excited to help establish a standard of coffee preparation and customer service that is unmatched in the industry. Charles is also the 2015 US Barista Champion and the runner up in the 2015 World Barista Championships. \nLearn from Charles about his journey and how he has scaled his business while maintaining a down-to-earth attitude and grown a team. \nMcCall Stone is the retail store supervisor of the Downtown SLO business\, The Sock Drawer\, now one of the largest online sock companies in the world\, which offers thousands of styles to choose from. McCall is part of the team of kooky\, cheerful sock fairies who hand-pick from the best sock brands based on the eclectic style needs of their amazing customers. \nLearn from McCall about how the Sock Drawer has grown and maintained a sock-cessful business. \n\nRegister on Eventbrite for this Event\n\nBusiness Education Series sessions are free for Downtown SLO members to attend as a member benefit. \nNon-members are welcome to attend as a guest for $15 per person. \nEach session runs from 8AM-10AM.
