SUMMARY:Point San Luis Lighthouse Sunset Photo Shoot!
DESCRIPTION:As part of a series of events for the 130th Anniversary of the Point San Luis Lighthouse we will be hosting an evening for photographers and enthusiasts to come to the station and take sunset photos. \nThe Point San Luis Lighthouse is located on a 100 foot tall coastal bluff at the northern end of San Luis Bay. With a clear view of the horizon it is a perfect place for photographers to come snap shots of beautiful San Luis Bay\, the setting sun\, and other picturesque views such as the breakwater and whalers island. Due to the remote nature of the site and its proximity to Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant\, the property is usually closed in the evenings. But we are keeping it open for a small group to come out and enjoy the pristine beauty of this historic site. \nThis Lighthouse\, Fog Signal Building\, Fresnel Lens room\, and the station grounds will be open for this event. \nParking will be at Wild Cherry Canyon. Vehicles will caravan to the Lighthouse. \nWild Cherry Canyon is located on Avila Beach Drive in the town of Avila Beach. Staying on Avila Beach Drive heading to Port San Luis you will pass the Cal Poly Pier on your left. The Wild Cherry Canyon parking lot is located one half mile down the road on the right side. Look for the Lighthouse banner on the fence.
