Panel Discussion\n\n\nJoin us for a panel discussion on how government and industry are adopting policies\, providing financial incentives\, and rolling out new technology to make it easier and more convenient to own and operate an electric vehicle (Spanish translation service provided). The moderator and panelists include: \n• Barry Rands (Moderator)\, Green Transportation Specialist\, San Luis Obispo Climate Coalition. Barry has helped organize National Drive Electric Week in San Luis Obispo over the past three years.\n• Alex Economou\, Coordinator of the Central Coast Clean Cities Coalition and Air Quality Specialist at the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District.\n• Jackie Mansoor\, Air Quality Specialist for the SLO County Air Pollution Control District. Jackie is the program manager for the Electric Vehicle Charging Station Incentive Program.\n• Chris Read\, Sustainability Manager for the City of San Luis Obispo. Chris was responsible for managing the City’s latest update to the Climate Action Plan which includes a robust section related to reducing GHG emissions in the transportation sector.\n• Dan Bertoldi\, Interim Director of Energey Programs for Central Coast Community Energy (formerly Monterey Bay Community Power). SUMMARY:Pismo Beach Candidate Forum (Zoom meeting)
DESCRIPTION:The League of Women Voters of San Luis Obispo County is partnering with the South County Chambers of Commerce to moderate a forum for candidates for the Pismo Beach Mayor and City Council on Wednesday\, September 30. The forum will be a virtual event and will run from 6 to 7 pm. \nThe Pismo Beach candidates in ballot order are Dan Shadwell for Mayor\, Ed Waage for Mayor (Incumbent)\, Debora Ann Lossing for Council Member\, Marcia Guthrie for Council Member (Incumbent)\, Erik Howell for Council Member (Incumbent)\, James Robert Prichard for Council Member\, and Scott A. Newton for Council Member. \nCandidate forums are intended to provide the public with an opportunity to learn about the candidates and their views on the issues. Community members are encouraged to submit their questions for the candidates in advance of the forum. Questions should be on the issues and applicable to all candidates.
