DESCRIPTION:San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden Presents: Art in the Garden: Art Show and Fundraiser \n  \nDo you enjoy supporting local artists? Come be a part of San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden’s Art in the Garden Art Show and Fundraiser! This free\, in-person event will be held at the Oak Glen Pavilion at the Garden April 30th – May 16th\, Thursdays through Sundays from 11 AM to 5 PM All art will be for sale and a portion of the sales will benefit San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden. \n  \nArt in the Garden is an annual event hosted by the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden as an opportunity to showcase local\, high-quality original art and gather in our open & safe outdoor grounds and gardens!  This event runs for 2 weeks\, and is jam-packed with colorful glass work\, paintings\, pottery\, succulent arrangements\, exquisite jewelry design\, photography and more – from 15 local artists! Come see our artist demonstrations on Saturdays and some Sundays from 12-4 PM. This event draws people from all over this county and further to collect art\, take in the natural flora and fauna of the garden and enjoy much needed respite. \n  \nEntry to the Garden will be free on the first weekend\, May 1st-2nd (normally a $5 per person value) while our Spring Plant Sale is underway. Come join us for a beautiful day at the Garden! Go Public Gardens Days is the annual Spring observance of the American Public Gardens Association’s ongoing Go Public Gardens campaign to drive attention and attendance to botanical gardens and arboreta across North America and the world. \nMany of the Association’s 600+ members in all 50 states\, the District of Columbia\, Canada\, and around the world join in this celebration with public events and special offers during the week. The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden is offering a Mother’s Day Barbecue and Concert May 9th\, as well as Art in the Garden Show and Sale Fundraiser now through May 16 to celebrate Go Public Gardens Day. SUMMARY:Front Porch Community Nights
DESCRIPTION:Front Porch is a free coffee house and community space located just off campus of Cal Poly. We primarily serve the student population of San Luis Obispo. Every Wednesday between March 31 and June 2\, we will have a food distribution from 4 to 5 for students to pick up ingredients to make a meal for their household at home\, or pick up prepared food to take home and share with their household. Food pickups are from our physical location\, 1468 E Foothill Boulevard. \nAt 6\, we have a community gathering where we do trivia or facilitate a discussion on current issues in our community at the local or national level. We hold these events either on zoom (zoom ID 805 805 1468) or outdoors and socially distanced at Throop Park.  We call this combination of food distribution and discussion/trivia “Front Porch Community Night.”
