DESCRIPTION:Grab lunch from your favorite local restaurant (or your kitchen) and join us on Friday from 12 – 12:30 PM on Facebook LIVE for a stimulating conversation with SLOCOG Executive Director\, Peter Rodgers and SLO Chamber President/CEO\, Jim Dantona. \nAbout this week’s guest: \nPeter Rodgers serves as the executive director of the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments – the metropolitan planning organization responsible for programming\, coordination\, and planning in the San Luis Obispo region. With 28 years of increasing responsibility at the agency\, Rodgers was selected to lead the agency in August 2018. \nPeter has been involved in planning and funding consolidated public transit systems\, passenger rail\, highway improvements\, bikeways\, trails\, and street enhancements – linking almost every community in the San Luis Obispo region. His efforts to expand rail and improve intercity rail connections have secured two new rail stations – in Paso Robles and Grover Beach. \nPrior to his work at SLOCOG\, Peter worked at the civil engineering firm\, Wallace & Associates\, and served two Peace Corps assignments in Haiti and Costa Rica focused on reforestation.

The free summer concert series will run every Friday night\, August 6 – September 24. This years’ concert series will feature musical genres across the spectrum — from reggae to pop\, soul\, California roots rock\, and more.
