SUMMARY:Youth Art Show: Wonders of the Oak Woodlands
DESCRIPTION:The “Wonders of the Woodlands (WOW) Youth Art Show” is open to kindergarten through 12th grade students residing in San Luis Obispo County –including those who are homeschooled or belong to a youth/art program. The show will take place October 1 through November 30\, 2021 at Art Central in Downtown SLO.\n\nThe goal of the WOW art show is to encourage and inspire youth to creatively showcase animal and plant diversity found within SLO County’s oak woodland habitats\, while spotlighting the amazing talents of youth artists and providing a space for young people to express the importance of oak habitat conservation through visual art.\n\nHOW TO PARTICIPATE\nTo be eligible for the contest\, student artwork must depict an animal or plant native to SLO County oak woodlands or grasslands. A list of recommended species can be found HERE: Oak Woodland Wildlife List. You may also email lato@lcslo.org for a copy of the list. Artworks of non-native species are ineligible.\n\nSUBMIT YOUR ART\nPlease fill out the second page of the form LINKED HERE and mail or drop off with your artwork to the Land Conservancy’s office at 1137 Pacific St\, San Luis Obispo\, CA 93401. Artwork must be ready to hang. You can submit up to three works of art for display in the show. Portfolios are due by Tuesday\, September 28th at 4pm.
