SUMMARY:SLO Museum of Art Presents: Home/Work
DESCRIPTION:Home/Work presents the work of fourteen contemporary artists whose work together questions our collective experiences of home. The works gathered in this exhibition reflect on the unique and intimate experiences of the artists who made them — and invite us to consider how we achieve balance in our busy lives of making home and making work. Not designed to be exhaustive\, this show invites the public to consider their own experiences\, reflecting on the overlap of home and work\, and all that is in between. Including new works by emerging artists\, and recontextualized works by world-renowned leading feminist artists\, this exhibition asks the timely question: what does home mean to you? \nParticipating artists include: Brandy Eve Allen\, Zalika Azim\, Kate Barbee\, Phoebe Boswell\, Andrea Bowers\, Allana Clarke\, Geoffrey Chadsey\, Judy Chicago\, Mary Kelly\, Emmett Moore\, Sophia Narrett\, Woody de Othello\, Greg Scott\, and Chiffon Thomas.

SUMMARY:The Amphora Project Film Premier | Presented by Wine History Project of SLO County
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the premier of our new film documenting the Amphora Project this December! You’re invited to an evening of film and wine featuring “The Amphora Project – Past Forward” \nDate: December 1\, 2022 \nTime: 5:30-7:30 PM. \nLocation: Park Cinemas\, 1100 Pine St Paso Robles\, CA \n\nThe film shows how ancient winemaking techniques are being explored today by winemakers in San Luis Obispo County. \nProceeds benefit the preservation of our local history and go to the Paso Robles Area Historical Society \nThe Wine History Project has been researching the use of amphorae in local winemaking. There are at least fourteen local winemakers who are using the amphorae in the fermentation process of both red and white wines. Our staff has been interviewing each winemaker and recording data on the initial inspiration and decision as well as the selection and purchase of the amphorae. The red and white grape varieties selected and the wine varietals produced at each winery are being recorded. Oral histories and photographs of each winemaker are being collected for our archives.
