DESCRIPTION:The SLO Museum of Art is will be featuring the exhibit And Also… by Charlie Rugg from March 3rd until May 29th. \nCharlie Rugg is an abstract and portrait oil painter based in San Luis Obispo\, California. Rugg’s work converges on exploring the collective nature of elements that make up human experience\, and how they may be used to create a moment of perspective removed from the self. Rugg’s And Also… exhibition highlights our instinct to construct and define existence around story and the shape of the emergent narrative that comes to life when our stories are viewed as one. \nSLOMA is open from 11 AM until 5 PM every day of the week except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Admission is free.

He attended the University of California at Santa Cruz (BA Painting\, 2000)\, the Tyler School of Art at Temple University (MFA Painting\, 2003)\, and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2008).

The friendly bacteria\, Mycobacterium vaccae\, present in the soil stimulates serotonin production\, acting as a natural antidepressant. We believe the lack of understanding around prenatal and postnatal care has resulted in isolated\, overlooked\, and overwhelmed mothers\, and that “postnatal” is not a stage\, but forever. The SLO Botanical Garden offers a safe space (and plenty of healthy soil) to help us connect to our bodies\, our littles\, the natural world\, and each other. Including snacks\, activities\, and care for little ones\, join us for grounding in your pregnancy and lifelong postpartum journey. Please bring water\, comfortable shoes\, sunscreen\, snacks and messy play clothes for your children\, and an optional blanket or mat if you’d like to sit on the floor.
