Adam Parker Smith has a unique ability to address complex themes in a whimsical\, light-hearted way that makes his work incredibly accessible. \nAdam Parker Smith is a sculpture and installation artist. He attended the University of California at Santa Cruz (BA Painting\, 2000)\, the Tyler School of Art at Temple University (MFA Painting\, 2003)\, and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2008).

Perkins was working as a potter and ceramics lab technician at a small arts college in Portland\, Oregon\, when he met Marcia C. Harvey\, who was there for the semester as an artist in residence in painting. Their first conversations were about art and poetry. At SLOMA\, they will be exhibiting together for the first time.

SUMMARY:SLOMA Lisa Solomon Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Profoundly interested in the idea of hybridization (sparked from her Hapa heritage – she is ½ Japanese and ½ Caucasian)\, Solomon’s mixed media works revolve thematically around discovering her heritage\, the notion of domesticity\, craft\, feminism\, and the pursuit of art as science/research. \nShe is obsessed with color and color theory and is drawn to found objects\, tending to alter them conceptually so that their meanings and original uses or intents are repurposed. She often fuses “wrong” things together – recontextualizing their original purposes\, and incorporating materials that inherently question and skirt the line between art and craft.

DESCRIPTION:Today Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band – Steve Lukather\, Colin Hay\, Edgar Winter\, Warren Ham\, Hamish Stuart\, Gregg Bissonette – announced their spring 2023 tour dates. The primarily west coast 20-date tour kicks off May 19 and will see Ringo come to Vina Robles Amphitheatre\, Friday\, June 16. Tickets for the Vina Robles date are available via Ticketmaster\, Friday\, January 20\, at 10AM. \nNederlander Concerts is producing the Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band performance at Vina Robles Amphitheatre\, as well as at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre\, June 15\, and San Jose Civic\, June 17. \n“It’s a new year and here are some new tour dates\,” Ringo affirmed. “I love playing with the All Starrs and can’t wait to be back out on the road again with this band. I send Peace and Love to you all and we hope to see you out there.” \n2022 was a busy year for Ringo that included spring and fall tour dates with his All-Starr band. Ringo also released EP3 on September 16\, and on November 18\, EP3 was issued on 10” vinyl and blue cassette and accompanied with a new music video\, “Everyone and Everything.” Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band Live at the Greek 2019 (Roccabella via BFD/The Orchard) was released on Blu Ray\, DVD\, CD and a special yellow double vinyl November 25. In addition\, Ringo created 500 life-sized “Peace and Love” sculptures of his iconic hand symbol that were sold exclusively through Julien’s Auctions to benefit the Lotus Foundation. \n
