Adam Parker Smith has a unique ability to address complex themes in a whimsical\, light-hearted way that makes his work incredibly accessible. \nAdam Parker Smith is a sculpture and installation artist. He attended the University of California at Santa Cruz (BA Painting\, 2000)\, the Tyler School of Art at Temple University (MFA Painting\, 2003)\, and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2008).

Perkins was working as a potter and ceramics lab technician at a small arts college in Portland\, Oregon\, when he met Marcia C. Harvey\, who was there for the semester as an artist in residence in painting. Their first conversations were about art and poetry. At SLOMA\, they will be exhibiting together for the first time.

SUMMARY:SLOMA Lisa Solomon Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Profoundly interested in the idea of hybridization (sparked from her Hapa heritage – she is ½ Japanese and ½ Caucasian)\, Solomon’s mixed media works revolve thematically around discovering her heritage\, the notion of domesticity\, craft\, feminism\, and the pursuit of art as science/research. \nShe is obsessed with color and color theory and is drawn to found objects\, tending to alter them conceptually so that their meanings and original uses or intents are repurposed. She often fuses “wrong” things together – recontextualizing their original purposes\, and incorporating materials that inherently question and skirt the line between art and craft.

SUMMARY:AmpSurf’s Youth Summer Surf Camps
DESCRIPTION:Week-Long Day Camps Starting June 12th\, 2023 in Beautiful Pismo Beach!\nOur week-long day camps run Monday through Friday from 8:30-1:30 each week this summer starting June 12th. The last week of camp is the week of August 11th. Camps are limited to no more than 10 kids a week. Camps are filled with surfing\, beach play\, playing in the ocean\, making friends\, and creating epic memories. We are stoked to share our love of the ocean by teaching campers about water safety and surfing fundamentals. When we are not catching waves\, we are playing beach games\, building sandcastles\, and enjoying beach time with our friends.\nAt AmpSurf we aim to Promote\, Inspire\, Educate\, and Rehabilitate (PIER) everyone through the joy of surfing\, ocean sports\, and other outdoor activities. \nClasses are weekly M-F June 12 th – Aug. 11th \n*The weekly camps are for abled bodied children\, if your child has a disability\, we ask that you sign up for one of our adaptive surf therapy clinics or our Surf on Saturdays / VetSurf program.
