DESCRIPTION:Violinist and songwriter Kaoru Ishibashi (Kishi Bashi) embarks on a musical journey to explore WWII-era Japanese incarceration\, cultural assimilation\, and what it means to be a minority in America today. Along the way\, he improvises and writes music in an effort to better understand his own identity as a bi-cultural American. Using archival footage and visual storytelling\, Ishibashi creates a portrait of America from the perspective of someone caught between two worlds. \nThis screening will be accompanied by a live Q&A with the Composer and Director\, Kishi Bashi.
