SUMMARY:Membership Mixer
DESCRIPTION:Every month SLO Chamber members gather after hours to catch up\, meet new members\, do a bit of networking and get an inside glance at a local business. \nMembership Mixers happen on the third Wednesday of every month and provide an opportunity for members to get to know each other and share business contacts all in the friendly confines of a member business. \nA benefit to all Chamber members\, these networking events provide the opportunity for the host to showcase their digs\, show off what they do and maybe even boast a little about the services they offer.

SUMMARY:Good Morning SLO
DESCRIPTION:Your community newspaper brought to life. \nGood Morning SLO is our platform for sharing ideas\, news and inspiration. A monthly breakfast program that sits community leaders\, business owners\, nonprofit executives and staffers literally at the same table\, and enables us to reconnect\, engage\, and learn from each other about what makes our community great. \nOur March program includes: \nMoving Forward After “St. Fratty’s Day”\nEarly on the morning of March 7\, a “St. Fratty’s Day” party drew some 3\,000 people to Hathaway Ave.\, culminating in a roof collapse that injured at least eight people. Cal Poly President Jeffrey Armstrong will join us to talk about the response\, what has been learned since\, and discuss the collaboration between Cal Poly\, Cuesta College\, the City of San Luis Obispo and the community to build positive relations between residents and students. \n  \n\nYouth in Government\nIn February\, hundreds of delegations of teens from the YMCA’s Youth in Government program gathered in State Capitol chambers in Sacramento and executed a model legislature\, where they advocated and lobbied for legislation that they drafted themselves. Dorothy Monza\, president of our local delegation\, and a dynamic senior at SLO High will share her delegation’s experience in Sacramento\, and how those lessons will inform their future activity in government. \n  \nProtecting Yourself from Ransomware\nRansomware is a new type of malware threat that is on the rise and stealing millions. Ransomware is designed to take over your computer by encrypting all your working files\, making them impossible to open. The Ransomware then demands payments upwards of $2\,000 to regain access to your files. Itech Solutions CEO / Director of IT Services Brian Weiss will share ways to protect yourself from Ransomware\, and other digital infections. \n  \nImproving Women’s Health Globally\nRaised in the SLO HotHouse and now working out of the Fogarty Institute for Innovation\, InPress Technologies is working to improve women’s health by solving the issue of postpartum hemorrhaging. Jessie Becker\, co-founder and CEO of InPress will join us to tell us about how the San Luis Obispo community has fostered InPress’ success and continues to propel her company forward. \n  \n\nNavigating California’s Energy Policy\nOn January 5\, Gov. Jerry Brown proposed an ambitious energy policy agenda\, calling for 50 percent of California’s electricity to come from renewable sources (an increase from a 33 percent goal by 2020)\, a 50 percent increase in existing building energy efficiency\, and a 50 percent reduction in petroleum use – all by 2030. Tom Fulks will join us to explain how the 50-50-50×30 plan affects Californians\, and your business. \n  \nThe Monday Club Song on Thursday Morning\nThe Monday Club of San Luis Obispo is a dedicated group of women whose mission is to enhance the educational\, civic\, social and cultural quality of our community. They will graciously share with us the “Monday Club Song\,” which used to be sung at the opening of each City Council meeting. \n  \n  \nPlease do not park in the surrounding business’ parking lots\, as some of them open before 9 a.m. \nWe will hold your reserved seat until 7:40 a.m. After that time\, we cannot guarantee a spot as your seat may be given to a person on our waiting list.

SUMMARY:Insight Studio | Building Your Brand Culture
DESCRIPTION:Building Your Brand Culture:\nClarity is power—how to write a vision statement that inspires. \nLynne Biddinger\, is a brand consultant and former owner of  20|20 Creative Group. \nIn her 20+ years working with marketing organizations of all types—from large healthcare and tech companies to small mom and pop shops\, she learned that the greatest predictor of success did not come from advertising or marketing messages\, but from the values\, beliefs and actions of the people behind the organizations. \nIn this Insight Studio workshop\, Lynne will facilitate a hands-on learning session to help participants uncover their own talents and beliefs and develop a clear vision statement answering the questions “who are we\, where are we headed and how will we get there?”
