SUMMARY:12 PM | Working Lunch with Beau and Melissa Kramer
DESCRIPTION:Grab lunch from your favorite local restaurant (or your kitchen) and join us on Friday from 12 – 12:30 PM on Facebook LIVE for a stimulating conversation with SLO Chamber President/CEO\, Jim Dantona and Beau and Melissa Kramer with Kramer Events! \nIn 1997 as a freshman at Cal Poly\, Beau Kramer started Kramer Events with 2 turntables which he stored under his dorm room bed. Known as “DJ Beau” he Dj-ed downtown SLO at the original SLO Brew and Mother’s Tavern for many years which eventually led him to doing weddings — sometimes three a weekend — all while earning a Computer Engineering degree and MBA from Cal Poly. By 2008\, business was booming and Beau decided to bring on additional DJs and brought on his wife\, Melissa Kramer to head sales and marketing. Since then\, Kramer Events has grown to 30 team members and is an event production company that provides DJs\, event lighting\, photo booth\, event coordination and entertainment for more than 200 weddings and events each year.

SUMMARY:7:30 AM | Virtual Good Morning SLO - September 2020
DESCRIPTION:Good Morning SLO has gone virtual! Grab breakfast and coffee and join us for this month’s virtual Good Morning SLO. To preserve some community connection in this time of being apart\, you’ll have the chance to interact with speakers by asking your most pressing questions. Zoom invite will be sent upon registration. \nView this month’s Good Morning SLO digital flyers HERE \n  \nThank you to this month’s featured sponsor: \n \n\nSeptember topics include: \nARTS IN CRISIS\nThroughout history\, some of the most impactful art has been created during tectonic societal shifts and times of crisis. Leann Standish\, Executive Director of the Foundation for the Performing Arts Center will delve into a bit of that history and share how our world’s current events are influencing trends and experiences. \n\nTAX CREDITS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES\nJust last week\, California announced a new program designed to entice businesses to hire more workers over the next three months. Mical Bovee\, Principal at Glenn Burdette\, will share what you need to know to take advantage of this program and navigate the ever-changing tax landscape. \n\nWHAT’S THE POINT OF VACCINES?\nFlu season is on its way and SLO County continues to struggle to effectively contain the Coronavirus. Pediatric specialist\, Dr. Grace Lim will share how vaccines will help us survive this challenging time as we prepare to embark on the most impactful immunization effort of our lifetime. \n\nSTARTING ON THE RIGHT TRACK\nIf you’ve ever thought about how we could improve traffic and find transportation alternatives on the Central Coast\, rest assured you are not alone. SLOCOG is launching a new regional rail study and Anna Devers will share what residents need to know and how they can get involved. \n\nSOMETHING’S FISHY ON THE CENTRAL COAST\nRebounding populations of king salmon and rumors of spot prawn sales have many feeling excited about the future of the fishing industry on the Central Coast. A third generation local carrying on his family’s legacy in Morro Bay\, Giovanni DeGarimore will opine on how we can set up our region for a thriving seafood culture. \n\nVENN DIAGRAM OF BUSINESS & BLACK LIVES\nToday’s headlines might lead you to believe that support for business and Black Lives Matter have zero overlap\, but there’s far more to it. Founding Director of the Diversity Coalition\, Michael Boyer will share why his support of both the business community and #BlackLivesMatter demonstrations are not mutually exclusive as we work towards an anti-racist community. \n\nThank you to our 2020 Good Morning SLO Annual Sponsors:\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n
