DESCRIPTION:Grab lunch from your favorite local restaurant (or your kitchen) and join us on Friday from 12 – 12:30 PM on Facebook LIVE for a stimulating conversation with SLO Chamber President/CEO\, Jim Dantona and Cuesta College President\, Dr. Jill Stearns. \n\nDr. Jill Stearns was born into a family with a four-generation legacy of teachers and was raised in Avenal\, California. Though not originally interested in teaching\, Dr. Stearns jumped into the role when a last-minute vacancy left her local high school without a math teacher. Four years later\, having expanded her classes to include science and special education\, Stearns was hooked. She would spend the next two decades climbing the ladder in academia\, culminating in her current post as Cuesta College’s newest superintendent/president. Dr. Stearns earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Cal Poly SLO\, her Master’s in Instructional Technology from National University in La Jolla\, and her Ph.D. in Education and Community College Leadership from Walden University in Maryland. \nLearn more about Dr. Jill Stearns in an article by the Central Coast Journal.
