Soon after Garret joined forces with another former Fire Chief\, Rob Lewin and founded Resolute Associates\, a consulting firm which provides services for community leaders\, organizations and businesses\, specifically surrounding emergency management. When the pandemic began\, Garret and Rob donated their time to assist several local nonprofits\, including the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County. In May 2020\, Garret accepted the position of CEO of the SLO Food Bank. Garret is a graduate of Leadership SLO Class 23\, past president of Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and currently serves as board president for RISE SLO.
