SUMMARY:12 PM | 2021 Employment Law Update
DESCRIPTION:As 2020 finally comes to a close\, it’s time to look ahead to the new year and the new employment laws that come with it. In response to the economic upheaval created by the pandemic\, there have been significant changes in both federal and state law including changes to family leave\, extensions of tax credits and deadlines\, and updates to OSHA regulations. \nAdditionally\, there have been notable changes in employment law that are unrelated to the pandemic like the controversial AB 5\, limiting employers’ ability to classify workers as “independent contractors”. It is critical for employees and employers alike to be aware of these changes. \nJoin us December 8 as leading attorneys Kathy Eppright and Dave Juhnke explain many of these new and modified laws and share the changes you need to make before the January 1 deadline. \n\nPRICING\nMembers: $30\nFuture Members: $40 \nLOCATION\nZOOM – link will be sent upon registration \n\nSPEAKERS \nKathy Eppright specializes in employment law and is the Chair of Andre\, Morris and Buttery’s Employment Law Practice Group. In addition to defending cases filed in the Superior Court and with the Department of Fair Employment & Housing and other state agencies\, Eppright is also an Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder and is frequently retained to perform outside investigations throughout the state for employers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. \n\nSince the mid 80s\, Dave Juhnke has counseled businesses throughout the Central Coast on personnel matters\, employee disputes\, business transactions and litigation in the trial and appellate courts. He has represented clients before state and federal employment agencies\, tried employment cases before federal and state court juries and judges\, and handled appeals of employment cases in both federal and state appellate courts.
