SUMMARY:2021 Housing Summit
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Housing Summit will provide attendees a behind the scenes look at the most impactful addition of permanent supportive housing in our region in the past year. This innovative public-private partnership leveraged state funds to rapidly convert a motel into desperately needed housing and shelter.\n\nThrough the State’s Project Homekey initiative\, an additional $2.75 billion in grants will be available to sustain and rapidly expand housing for diplaced or at risk community members. \nOur community cannot afford to leave this money on the table.\n  \nAttendees will leave this event educated\, inspired and prepared to advocate for real\, actionable solutions to combat homelessness throughout San Luis Obispo County.\n  \nIf you are passionate about addressing housing and homelessness\, register for this timely\, informative event today.\n\nWendy Lewis | President/CEO ECHO \nServing all of San Luis Obispo County\, ECHO is a three-facility\, 140-bed homeless organization. Lewis has leveraged her experience and expertise to expand ECHO’s reach and fulfill their mission to empower people in SLO County to make positive change by providing food\, shelter\, and supportive services.  \n\nScott Smith | Executive Director of the Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo \n \nWith a mission to assist the county’s lower income citizens secure and maintain long-term housing\, HASLO currently provides housing to more than 7\,000 people each month through  a variety of programs. Smith is an affordable housing professional that has worked in the industry for more than 30 years\, and developed over 2\,500 units of homeownership and rental housing throughout San Luis Obispo\, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. \n\n \nKen Trigueiro | President/CEO of People’s Self-Help Housing \nWith a mission to build permanent\, supportive housing with site-based services that offer opportunities to change lives and strengthen communities\, People’s Self-Help Housing provides homes to more than 10\,000 individuals across San Luis Obispo\, Santa Barbara\, Monterey and Ventura Counties.
