A monthly program that brings community leaders\, business owners\, nonprofit executives and staffers together\, and enables us to reconnect\, engage and learn from each other. \nOur goal is to provide insight into business\, community and legislative issues and share the stories of those making a difference. We want audience members to leave with ideas and information about how to better their personal and professional lives. \nGood Morning SLO happens on the fourth Thursday of every month except November when it is on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. \nThank you to this month’s featured sponsor: \n \n\nPRECISION GROWTH \nWhile it’s not unusual to see a local company on the Inc. 5000\, recognition as the fastest-growing construction business in California is an exceptional achievement. Erik Wright\, Principal at Precision Construction Services\, will share a sneak peek into their unique approach and some of the game changing projects that they have undertaken. \n\nGOVERNING CANNABIS \nSix years ago voters legalized cannabis use for adults in California. Since then\, jurisdictions have been working to create rules to manage this budding industry. Matt Bronson\, Grover Beach City Manager\, will join us to talk about how Grover has managed cannabis\, leading to growth in the industry and investment in the community. \n\nBRIDGE TO A NEW LIFE \nFor those who have been through the justice system\, reintegrating into society can be difficult. Restorative Partners has launched a new project\, the Bridge Cafe\, to help formerly incarcerated people learn new skills and jumpstart community connections. Sister Theresa Harpin and Eric Blanco will share more about this endeavor. \n\nLEADING SLO’S RESPONSE \nThe mental health crisis facing our community continues to present challenges. The City of SLO has launched a Mobile Crisis Unit that will assist with mental health and behavioral crisis intervention. Keith Aggson\, Fire Chief for the City of SLO\, will fill us in on how the first months have gone and introduce the person doing this crucial work. \n\nDIABLO CONTINUES ON? \nCalifornia recently passed legislation that could extend the life of Diablo Canyon in order to preserve the state’s grid reliability. There are still hurdles to clear before that becomes a reality. The PG&E team will be at Good Morning SLO to talk to us about what will be taking place over the coming months. \n\nMUSTANG MARCHING BAND \nWe’ll finish our morning off on an exciting note with a performance from the Cal Poly Marching Band.
