DESCRIPTION:Arthur Tress\, a world-renowned photographer based in Cambria\, has been photographing Morro Rock two to three times a day since 2009. Out of over 1\,000 black and white photographs\, SLOMA curator\, Ruta Saliklis\, has selected 100 images for a new exhibition of Tress’ work entitled\, About Morro Rock: 100 Views\, in the First Gallery from March 6 through May 10\, 2015. A public opening reception will take place on Friday\, March 6 from 6–9 pm in conjunction with Art After Dark.

SUMMARY:SLO Grocery Outlet Launches Rebate Program to Benefit the
DESCRIPTION:The San Luis Obispo Grocery Outlet\, a locally owned and operated grocery store part of a national chain\, is excited to announce the launch of a school partnership program to benefit the San Luis Obispo School District\, in which each school receives 5 percent of the purchases made on their behalf. Parents must sign up through their PTA\, who receives scan cards for all staff and students’ families that are specific to their school. When a purchase is made\, the store will scan the card and capture the dollars spent (excluding alcohol). At the end of each month\, the total purchases for each school are calculated and the each school receives 5 percent of the purchases made on their behalf. There will be no blackout dates or restrictions on purchases\, aside from alcohol. The program launches on April 14 and will conclude on Aug. 31. The program is available for all schools to participate in through their PTA.

DESCRIPTION:  \n\nCal Poly natural resources and environmental sciences lecturer David Yun will present “Historic San Luis Obispo Shared Through GIS” from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday\, April 30\, in the Kennedy Library\, Room 111-C. According to Yun\, who is also San Luis Obispo’s geographic information services supervisor\, much historical information exists solely as paper documents\, making the information difficult to access and use. He will discuss how the scanning of historic maps and documents using GIS tools has provided new ways to visualize and connect to information from the past. The free public event is hosted by Cal Poly’s Data Studio at Kennedy Library.

Espelage\, a professor of educational psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign\, will discuss the pervasiveness of bullying and harassment in the U.S.\, exploring why such a culture has continued to grow and offering ideas on what leads to bullying behaviors on university campuses.

SUMMARY:Great American Melodrama presents The Saga of Roaring Gulch
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe old\, Wild West\, as only the Melodrama would envision it\, comes to Oceano when The Great American Melodrama opens The Saga of Roaring Gulch on Thursday\, April 30.  This hilarious musical spoof of Western life\, with book\, music and lyrics by Jack L. Canon\, is directed by Eric Hoit\, with musical direction by Kevin Lawson and choreography by Leah Kolb.
