DESCRIPTION:This three-day classical guitar event is presented by Cal Poly Arts and will feature 16 world-renowned international artists\, hailing from the United States\, Spain\, England\, Russia\, Italy\, Ireland\, Chile\, Croatia\, France\, and Scotland. The master musicians will perform in 10 concerts\, with several of them participating in five master classes\, open to the public. There will also be a free concert presented.\nThe Festival will also feature two unique guitar auctions\, a display of original guitar-related artwork that will be for sale\, and 40 guitar-makers exhibiting their handmade instruments at the Vendor Fair.\nFull Festival details can be found at www.laguitarracalifornia.com. SUMMARY:The Great American Melodrama holds auditions for "A Christmas Carol"
DESCRIPTION:The Great American Melodrama will audition young local actors for this year’s production of A Christmas Carol. Auditions will be held at the theatre on Sunday\, September 27 at 3pm and on Monday\, September 28 at 5:30 pm. Actors should come prepared to recite a memorized rhyme or monologue and to sing a verse from their favorite Christmas carol or other song. An accompanist will not be provided; songs may be sung a capella. Audition pieces must not exceed a total of 2 minutes. Both males and females between the ages of 5 and 17 will be cast. Rehearsals begin October 27\, 2015. Actors may be asked to participate in callback auditions; these will begin Monday evening at 7:00pm.
