SUMMARY:Cuesta College's Harold J. Mossi Art Gallery presents Camille Rose Garcia
DESCRIPTION:A collection of layered\, broken narrative paintings of wasteland fairy tales by Los Angeles based artist Camille Rose Garcia will be on exhibit February 29 – March 25 at Cuesta College’s Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery. \nAs the child of a Mexican activist filmmaker father and a muralist/painter mother\, Garcia’s works are influenced by William Burroughs’ cut-up writings and surrealist film\, as well as vintage Walt Disney and Fleischer Studios cartoons. Her paintings act as critical commentaries on the failures of capitalist utopias\, blending nostalgic pop culture references with a satirical slant on modern society. \nGarcia’s works have been displayed internationally and in many art galleries\, including collections by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the San Jose Museum of Art. Garcia has also been featured in numerous magazines\, including Rolling Stone\, Juxtapoz\, and Modern Painter. \nThe Harold J Miossi Art Gallery is located in room 7170\, on the San Luis Obispo campus of Cuesta College. It is open Monday-Friday\, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and the 1st and 3rd Sundays from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Admission is free. For more information\, please call (805) 546-3202.

SUMMARY:The Great American Melodrama Presents The 39 Steps
DESCRIPTION:Mix a Hitchcock thriller\, a juicy spy novel\, and a dash of the Melodrama’s patented hilarity and you have The 39 Steps\, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre.\nA ridiculously talented cast of 4 takes on more than 150 zany characters. Richard Hannay\, a man bored with life\, meets a woman with a thick accent who claims to be a spy.
