DESCRIPTION:San Luis Obispo Museum of Art and The History Center of San Luis Obispo County are pleased to present an evocative glimpse of San Luis Obispo on the brink of the 20th century. Cen Dallidet: At the Edge of a New World is on exhibit from September 2 through October 2\, 2016. \nMaria Ascension “Cen” Dallidet (1859-1913) was a Franco-Californio artist. A native San Luis Obispan\, she was the eldest daughter of pioneering Central Coast vintner Pierre Dallidet and Ascencion Concepcion Salazar. Because the Dallidet’s adobe home was preserved intact\, complete with family belongings\, a significant body of Dallidet’s work survives locally\, thanks to the preservation efforts of the History Center of San Luis Obispo County. The art shows her development from the vernacular to a sophisticated artistic vision informed by contemporary international movements of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism.

After a one-hour layover in S.B.\, you will board the luxurious Overland Trail Lounge Car (see above)\, arriving back in SLO at 1 pm.  Feel free to bring champagne and caviar!  Cost per person round trip = $99. \nAFTERNOON EXCURSION:  Not a morning person?  Leave SLO at 2pm on the Pacific Trail with its comfortable seats and wide observation windows made for viewing (see above).  Stop in Santa Barbara for an hour\, then enjoy the unparalleled sunset as you return north on the evening Surfliner\, arriving back in SLO at 8:35pm.  Bring a picnic dinner\, purchase a meal in S.B.\, or try out the new Surfliner menu and eat at your leisure as you return home.  Cost per person round trip = $99. \nSANTA BARBARA AND RETURN ALL VINTAGE CAR EXCURSION:  Leave Santa Barbara on the Overland Trail going north at 10:22am\, arriving in SLO at 1pm.  Lay over for an hour\, then board the Pacific Trail departing SLO at 2pm and arrive back in SB at 4:37pm. SUMMARY:Guinness Record Model Train Collection at Beda's Biergarten
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday September 17\, starting at 10 am\, Beda’s Biergarten will be the location for an official Guinness World Records attempt: Cologne Germany native\, Bernd Schumacher\, who has been a collector for over twenty years will attempt to break the prior world record of the world’s largest model train collection. Bernd’s engines and rolling stock are in z gauge\, 1 in 220\, the world’s smallest serially produced model railroad system. Maerklin of Goeppingen\, Germany\, invented z gauge (Maerklin Mini-Club) in 1972\, when it was introduced at the world-famous Nuremberg Toy Fair. Come join Beda and Bernd for some unique model railroad fun\, where whole layouts fit into a regular briefcase. Beda will serve Guinness beer on tap as well as his entire regular food and drink menu staring at 10 am. A representative of Maerklin USA will be on hand to answer questions about their amazing assortment of model railroads which they have been manufacturing in Germany since 1859.
