SUMMARY:ARTful Learning Workshop
DESCRIPTION:TRANSLUCENT WATERCOLOR PORTRAITS \nOCT 14 – OCT 16 \nOVERVIEW // Join watercolor artist Jeannie Vodden in this 3-day watercolor workshop focusing on translucent watercolor portraits. Known for her patient teaching methods\, watch Jeannie as she demonstrates her rhythmic wet-on-dry\, wet into wet\, and glazing approach to watercolor using a limited palette of transparent staining colors. \nIf you are new to portraits\, you will be entering a great new adventure! If you’re experienced in painting faces and figures\, you will enjoy learning and watching Jeannie’s transparent limited palette techniques. \nJeannie will give plenty of demonstrations and instruction. She will bring photos that you can work from or you can bring your own. You may draw out your portrait ahead of time\, freehand draw\, trace\, or project your own image. This workshop will include watercolor demonstrations\, plenty of painting time\, individual coaching\, and gentle critiques. Artists will gain skill in watercolor techniques\, the use of a limited palette\, ways to see and paint light and color\, and techniques to heighten color. \nEnjoy the fun and rewarding challenges presented by painting watercolor portraits! \nAbout the instructor:\nJeannie Vodden lives in the foothills of the Northern Sierra Nevada Mountains. Her charming cottage studio is located on the Jackson Creek in Jackson\, CA. This is where she dedicates her time to expressing her love and passion for art in painting\, drawing\, teaching and continuing study of art and philosophy. \nJeannie Vodden’s interest in the complex textures and patterns found in both natural and man-made objects is the starting point for most of her paintings. She adds natural light\, sometimes a figure\, occasionally a dash of fantasy\, and pulls it all together with a limited palette. Her preference for the complex play of form and light is balanced by her preference for a very simple palette — starting with only three colors\, and seldom using more than six\, she glazes many transparent layers to achieve great richness and depth of color. In Jeannie’s words\, “My desire is to combine a sense of wonder with an experienced artist’s hand.”\nDETAILS // $300 members\, $325 general.\nOctober 14 – 16\, 2016. 10 am – 4 pm with breaks.\nPlease register by Friday\, October 7. \nIn consideration of our instructors\, please review our cancelation policy: A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of enrollment. The balance is required 30 days prior to the workshop date to ensure your space\, after which there are NO REFUNDS. If a class is cancelled by the Museum of Art\, the entire enrollment fee will be refunded.

DESCRIPTION:As announced on the I Love The 90’s Tour takeover of The Today Show\, the wildly popular tour is adding additional dates through the Fall following sold out shows and overwhelming fan demand. Vanilla Ice\, Kid ‘n Play and All-4-One are all part of the tour’s rotating lineup\, and the artists joined the show to give viewers a taste of what they can expect at a stop on the tour. The top-selling I Love The 90’s Tour\, which originally announced 29 dates\, is now coming to Vina Robles Amphitheatre on October 16. \nThe iconic decade dominated the Today Show\, transitioning between the studio and a packed plaza for performances by stars of I Love The 90’s Tour. Vanilla Ice kicked things off and got the crowd on its feet with hit single “Ice Ice Baby”. Kid ‘n Play brought the noise with a medley of their hits “Ain’t Gonna Hurt Nobody” and “Rolling with Kid ‘n Play”. The summer concert series ended with All-4-One\, who closed out the show with their swoon-worthy single “I Swear”. The entire morning was an ode to one of the most influential eras in music and style and included a 90’s Trivia game. \nFollowing early sold out shows and mounting demand from fans\, I Love The 90’s Tour continues to dominate as the nostalgia-driven go-to tour. Early reviews have praised the tour as “the live version of Yo! MTV Raps with Fab Five Freddy” by Houston Press and “arena-sized dance party…promises to be all that and a bag of chips” by Entertainment Weekly. The inaugural edition of I Love The 90’s Tour invites attendees to reminisce about the trend-setting decade with some of the most iconic\, indelible names in rap\, hip hop and R&B. All-4-One\, Color Me Badd\, Kid ‘n Play\, Tone Loc\, Vanilla Ice and Young MC compose this year’s revolving line-up of iconic 90’s artists. Audiences can expect to hear chart-topping hits during a fun-filled night out that doubles as an arena-sized dance party. \nDoors open at 5:30
