SUMMARY:Midstate Fair: John Mayer with Special Guest The Night Game
DESCRIPTION:Mayer’s concert will be comprised of full band\, solo acoustic and John Mayer Trio sets of music and comes in support of his forthcoming full-length album\, The Search for Everything (Columbia Records). Some three years in the making\, The Search for Everything is the follow-up to 2013’s Paradise Valley and is scheduled to drop this spring. Mayer has appeared at the California Mid-State Fair twice before\, playing to packed houses in 2008 and again in 2013. The concert is part of Mayer’s first solo tour since 2014. \nHailing from a small town outside of Boston\, Massachusetts\, The Night Game illuminates the union between muscle and emotion in modern music. Much like the name\, they can only be seen in special circumstances…for now. \nCo-producer Francois Tetaz explains further “It’s a reoccurring dream that floats above you every night. And when you wake\, it’s the first thing to occupy your mind. You want it\, and you almost have it in hand – but somehow you never seem to reach it. It might be a memory. Or it could simply be a feeling; a state of mind. But you know it’s still out there in the field of dreams – calling out your name.” \n“The Outfield” introduces The Night Game with a combination of lush guitars and arena – size drums and synths and an irresistible refrain made to be chanted over and over. \nPerforming in the Chumash Grandstand Arena
