The stomp will take place on Wednesday\, September 19th\, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.\, on the grassy area between the Fine Arts building (7100) and the cafeteria (building 5100) on the San Luis Obispo Campus.\nThe event is expected to draw at least 100 participants\, including young children from the college’s Children’s Center. The clay will be used by students in the ceramics classes for the semester. Additionally\, event participants will be encouraged to help create a mural that will be installed on Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo Campus.\n“This event is very important to me – my father began the tradition when he started stomping clay in his back yard in 1978\,” said Jarred Pfeiffer\, event organizer and Cuesta College ceramics instructor. “The stomp is a way to bring students\, faculty and community members together to have fun and help out. And hopefully participants will learn more about ceramics and then take a class in the future.”\nCuesta College offers four classes in ceramics: Art 280 – Intro to Ceramics\, Art 281A – Ceramics Wheel I\, Art 281B – Ceramics Wheel II\, and Art 284 – Alternative Firing Techniques. The expansive 37-city tour will make a stop at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre on September 19.
