SUMMARY:A Conversation with... SLO's Next Generation of Doers + Dreamers
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Penny for drinks\, lite bites and conversation with the creative couples behind SLO’s next generation of Doers + Dreamers. \nYou’ll also have the chance to experience this gorgeous venue that lies in the heart of downtown. San Luis Obispo’s only large\, mixed-use event space of its kind\, the Penny is a passion project of the Holms and the Christensens. Constructed in the 1930s to house a blacksmith shop\, the building’s historic aesthetic showcases original architecture\, exposed brick\, and industrial finishes with modern fixtures and decor. \nAfter the event\, stay and enjoy the space during an optional mixer from 6-7:30pm. \n\nOur speakers: \n\n\nJosh and Lauren Christensen\, the partners behind Sidecar Cocktail Co.\, haveturned their classic and creative restaurant into SLO’s go to for unique craft cocktail experiences. With their house made cocktail fixings\, the duo\, along with partner Jeremy Christensen\, demonstrate their commitment to executing the highest caliber bar program on the Central Coast. Sidecar is thrilled about their upcoming relocation to a larger space\, and plans to open SLO’s first downtown microdistillery in late 2019.\n\n\n\n \nWhile husband and wife Jaime and Carl Holm got their start in renting vintage travel trailers\, their business quickly turned into a budding event rental company. Tinker Tin Company specializes in retail design\, display design and build\, catalog and prop styling\, production\, and experiential marketing campaigns. Whether it be a large music festival like Coachella or a local event at the Penny\, Tinker Tin always provides a unique experience that highlights American history.\n\n\n\n \nWhen Coby Parker-Garcia and Katie Noonan met in 2006\, they dreamed of combining their passion for wine to start their own brand. In 2013\, they took the leap and produced their first vintage of El Lugar Pinot Noir. 2019 will mark the 7th harvest for the brand\, which offers private tastings at The Petal Club\, also home to Katie’s floral studio\, Noonan’s Wine Country Designs. Her floral work has been featured in leading wedding magazines and blogs.\n\n\n\n \nOur moderator Paden Hughes is a public speaker\, executive coach and small business owner. She is the CEO of Gymnazo\, a successful fitness training and restoration facility in San Luis Obispo. Hughes has worked with dozens of Central Coast companies helping them build thriving businesses. She loves to travel with her husband\, daughter and new son\, and is a personal development junkie.
