SUMMARY:Board Officer Training 2024: Role and Responsibilities of the Board Secretary
DESCRIPTION:$60 for Non Members\n$35 for Spokes Members \nIt seems like no one ever wants to be the board secretary. The job either goes to the member who is absent when officers are elected or to some generous soul who\, after a few minutes of everyone looking at one another\, finally raises a hand and says\, “Oh all right\, I’ll do it.”  (Can you hear everyone else cheering?) Yet the secretary’s role can be very rewarding and provide an extremely important service to your organization. This class will give you the basics to perform the role happily and effectively. \nJoin us and learn: \n\nMaster the minutes! What goes in them? What doesn’t? What to do with them after the meeitng? Does the secretary have to be the one to take them?\nWhat are the critical documents every organization should have right at hand for ready reference?\nHow can you use technology to lighten the load?\n\nThis class is for any secretary of a nonprofit board of directors. This class is online; link will be sent with registration acknowledgement. This class will be recorded.

SUMMARY:Cal Poly Arts: CHICAGO
DESCRIPTION:After 26 years\, CHICAGO is still the one musical with everything that makes Broadway shimmy-shake: a universal tale of fame\, fortune\, and all that jazz\, with one show-stopping song after another and the most astonishing dancing you’ve ever seen. No wonder CHICAGO has been honored with six Tony Awards\, two Olivier Awards\, a Grammy\, and thousands of standing ovations. Come see why the name on everyone’s lips is still…CHICAGO. \nSet amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s\, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart\, a housewife and nightclub dancer who maliciously murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction\, she dupes the public\, the media and her rival cellmate\, Velma Kelly\, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines\, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids. \nSponsored by Jeffrey & Sharon Armstrong\, Susan Minker\, M.D. & Stephen Holtzman\, M.D.\, and Rod & Hammer’s SLO Stills
