DESCRIPTION:Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion: Basics for Board Members \nDuring the session\, participants engage in deep self-reflection in order to build awareness of implicit bias\, acknowledge privilege\, examine social responsibility\, and understand how socialization and culture impact the work of nonprofits.  Participants will explore their social responsibility to engage in bystander intervention\, advocacy\, and social change. They will be introduced to racism as an institutional structure and gain an understanding of the importance of being anti-racist. \n\nJoin us and learn: \n\nDefinitions of diversity\, equity\, and inclusion\nUnderstanding implicit bias\nIdentifying social identity & privilege\nPreventing microaggressions\nImportance of being anti-racist\n\n\nThis class is designed for nonprofit boards of directors. This class is online; link will be sent with registration acknowledgement. This class may be recorded. \n\nInstructor: Joy Pedersen\, Ph.D. \nJoy is passionate about helping individuals and teams achieve their full potential.
