DESCRIPTION:Board President/Chair Roundtable \nSpokes roundtables are facilitated\, peer networking and problem-solving opportunities. At the start of the roundtable\, participants introduce themselves and share some good news and/or something that’s “keeping them up at night.” They may also offer a “spotlight topic” for discussion during the course of the 60 minute session. \nA hallmark of the roundtables is confidentiality. The explicit norm is “what’s said in the roundtable stays in the roundtable.” This encourages mutual support and a candid exchange of ideas. As we meet in Zoom\, we request that participants display their name and organization and have their video on. \n\n*Please register to receive the Log-in Information.\nCurrent Spokes members should log in to receive free registration. \n\nFacilitator: Michael Simkins\, Ed.D.\nMichael has been a member of several nonprofit boards and served as board secretary\, treasurer\, and president. His professional experience spans the education and nonprofit sectors from being a school principal in Los Osos and Cal Poly lecturer to acting CEO of a major Silicon Valley nonprofit. He is immediate past president at San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre and president of his local property-owners association. Currently\, he is Spokes’ CEO. \n
