SUMMARY:Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance Presents: Harvest Wine Month
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the Harvest Season\nThe entire month of October is Harvest Wine Month. Wineries host individual events throughout the month with most happening during the featured weekend of October 18-20. Look for specialty tours\, winemaker dinners\, grape stomps\, music events\, and more to celebrate the harvest season. \nOctober traditionally has exceptional weather\, when days are warm and nights are cool\, a staple for Paso Robles Wine Country and a perfect time to take in the incredible colors\, sights\, and aromas of harvest. Come experience the most exciting time of year with us during Harvest Wine Month this October! \nHarvest Wine Month (HWM) is a themed month that does not feature a single marquee event\, but rather individual experiences at the area wineries. \nWe look forward to celebrating harvest with you in Paso Robles Wine Country!

SUMMARY:Spokes Resources for Nonprofits: Cultivating a Robust & Collaborative Nonprofit Culture
DESCRIPTION:A robust nonprofit culture that fosters trust\, collaboration\, and innovation empowers the organization to fulfill its mission and create lasting impact. But great culture doesn’t just happen—it requires intentional leadership\, clear values\, and a continual effort to cultivate an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute. \nThe Applied Wisdom for Nonprofits team will take you through the basics of a practical and concise free program that can be easily implemented as a nonprofit board and staff development tool. The program was developed by Jim Morgan\, former CEO of semiconductor equipment giant Applied Materials and board member of The Nature Conservancy. Under Morgan’s leadership of nearly 30 years—one of the longest tenures of any Fortune 500 CEO— Applied Materials grew from a small\, struggling company to an industry leader. \nThis class is designed for nonprofit board members and executive directors. It will summarize the three parts of the Applied Wisdom for Nonprofits program: Culture\, Planning\, and Implementation\, with particular focus on diverse cultural needs. We will utilize plenty of breakout time to allow for a fun and interactive learning environment. \n\nIn this class you will learn about: \n\nHow to Cultivate a Healthy Nonprofit Culture\nThe Importance of Respecting and Trusting Your People\nHow Bad News is Good News IF You Do Something About It\n\n**WIN $100 FOR YOUR NONPROFIT!** \nAs an added incentive to participate\, each attendee will have a chance to win one of five $100 donations to the nonprofit they represent. \n\nIn-person & includes lunch from SLO Provisions\n*Members log in to access member rate \n$35 General Public\n$20 Spokes Members \n*REGISTRATION CLOSES OCTOBER 16 \n\nAbout the Presenters: \n \nKathleen King is a superstar in the nonprofit and public sectors in Santa Clara County. Following a successful career as the first female sales executive at Applied Materials\, her passion for children\, families\, and equitable access led her to found Healthier Kids Foundation\, a nonprofit that has positively influenced thousands of Silicon Valley children and their families. Kathleen has served on numerous boards\, including FIRST 5 Santa Clara County\, The Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation\, and Child Abuse Prevention Council. Currently a member of the Leadership Advocate Team for Applied Wisdom for the Nonprofit Sector\, Kathleen has helped thousands of people working in nonprofits elevate their leadership and management skills. \n  \n  \n\nDolly Sandoval has spent her life serving the Santa Clara County community. As the first in her family to attend and graduate from college\, she became an educator while simultaneously serving on the Foothill DeAnza Board of Trustees\, as a Cupertino city council member\, and finally as mayor for the city of Cupertino. Dolly graduated from the inaugural class of MALDEF (the Mexican-American Legal Defense & Education Fund) Leadership Development Program and has served on a number of nonprofit boards. As a member of the Leadership Advocate Team for Applied Wisdom for the Nonprofit Sector\, Dolly’s experience as a committed public servant and skilled educator has been integral in helping unlock excellence in nonprofit leaders and teams. \n  \n  \n\nThis program is in collaboration with the Diversity Coalition of San Luis Obispo County. \n \nAnd is generously supported with DEI Grant funding from the City of San Luis Obispo.
