DESCRIPTION:Held online in Zoom – URL sent upon registering\nLimited to 12 participants \nFree to Spokes members – $10 registration fee for others\nSpokes roundtables are facilitated\, peer networking and problem-solving opportunities. At the start of the roundtable\, participants introduce themselves and share some good news and/or something that’s “keeping them up at night.” They may also offer a “spotlight topic” for discussion during the course of the 60 minute session. \nA hallmark of the roundtables is confidentiality. The explicit norm is “what’s said in the roundtable stays in the roundtable.” This encourages mutual support and a candid exchange of ideas. As we meet in Zoom\, we request that participants display their name and organization and have their video on. \n*Please register to receive the Log-in Information.\nCurrent Spokes members should log in to receive free registration. Not a member? You can join for as little as $5. \nFacilitator: Michael Simkins\, Ed.D.\nMichael has been a member of several nonprofit boards and served as board secretary\, treasurer\, and president. His professional experience spans the education and nonprofit sectors from being a school principal in Los Osos and Cal Poly lecturer to acting CEO of a major Silicon Valley nonprofit. He is immediate past president at San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre and president of his local property-owners association. Currently\, he is Spokes’ CEO. \n

SUMMARY:Fall Jazz Concert: Sounds of Rhythm
DESCRIPTION:Come out to the Spanos Theatre November 21st for the Cal Poly Fall Jazz Concert: Sounds of Rhythm. \nThe Cal Poly Fall Jazz Concert will feature performances by various jazz ensembles\, including the University Jazz Band and Vocal Jazz Ensemble\, directed by Jamaal Baptiste; and the Jazz Combos\, directed by Dylan Johnson. \nThe Vocal Jazz Ensemble will begin the evening with a selection of a cappella pieces and arrangements by Gene Puerling\, Darmon Meader\, Kerry Marsh and others. \nThe Jazz Combos will showcase a variety of jazz classics\, student arrangements and contemporary songs adapted for small jazz ensembles. \nThe University Jazz Band will conclude the night with notable big band masterworks by composers such as Duke Ellington\, Thad Jones\, Maria Schneider and Bill Holman. \nYou can buy your ticket online at the Performing Arts Center website linked below\, or through the Cal Poly Ticket Office: 805-756-4849!
