Inspired by his travels to Burgundy\, he embraced Old World techniques—barrel fermentation\, whole-cluster pressing\, extended lees aging\, and aging in François Frères barrels—tailoring them to the unique terroir of Santa Barbara County. \nThough Jim passed in 2021\, his legacy continues through a devoted winery team\, many of whom he mentored personally.
