SUMMARY:SLO Rep: Theatre ABCs Camp
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Theater ABC’s and see what happens when kids use their imaginations to act out exciting and very funny stories every Saturday! This play-based drama class will combine songs\, games\, imaginative play\, stories\, and movement to introduce students to the building blocks of the performing arts. This session we are basing our class around the beloved children’s author and illustrator\, Eric Carle (Brown Bear Brown Bear\, The Hungry Caterpillar\, The Very Busy Spider). SLO REP’s ACT classes are a great way to develop motor and speaking skills\, build confidence\, and enhance early social skills and creative learning. With new class material each session\, this is a great class to repeat! Parents and caregivers are encouraged to help supervise their child in-class and are also welcome to participate.

SUMMARY:PCPA: Come From Away
DESCRIPTION:In the wake of tragedy\, kindness took flight. Come From Away is an uplifting\, Tony-award-winning musical based on a real story. \nAn average day in the isolated community of Gander\, Newfoundland becomes a defining moment when 38 planes are suddenly grounded in the small town on September 11\, 2001.  The population of the remote Gander doubles overnight.  But instead of panic\, something remarkable happens. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers\, the locals throw open their homes\, their bars\, and their hearts—proving that compassion can outshine crisis.  Based on the true story that moved the world\, this Tony Award-winning musical pulses with a driving folk-rock score and unforgettable characters. Come From Away is a powerful\, uplifting celebration of human kindness and the community we create when we welcome the unknown.

SUMMARY:Beginning JunkJournaling with the JunkGirls
DESCRIPTION:Our uber talented team member\, Ellen has been with us for over eight years and works closely with Jenny to create many of the products we sell in our store. One of her favorite mediums is Ephemera\, which is a fancy word for paper items (such as posters\, advertisements and tickets) that were originally meant to be discarded after use but have since become collectibles. A junk journal is a handmade book containing personal and recycled materials to store ideas and memories. Part scrapbooking\, part\njournaling\, and a whole lot of fun\, this workshop is sure to get you hooked on this popular craft\, Junk Journaling. Ellen will focus on some beginning techniques\, starting with a cover design and then going into several page designs. Created using found\, vintage and repurposed items\, each participant will receive a 24 page blank journal (both paper and heavier cardstock) allowing for individual sections\, bound with two large metal rings\, so you can add / move the pages around. A metal stamped “What I Love” bookmark made by Melissa is included\, plus a kit including lots of fun bits to inspire and use in your design. You’ll also have access to lots of different types of vintage papers to include dictionary pages\, maps\, vintage photos\, magazine pages\, sewing patterns\, game pieces to use\nwhile you’re with us.
