DESCRIPTION:NASA astronaut and Cal Poly alum Victor Glover (Engineering ’99) will discuss his recent flight around the moon and how his Learn by Doing education helped prepare him for the historic Artemis II mission. \nGlover and his Artemis II crewmates traveled farther from Earth than any humans in history — journeying more than 250\,000 miles and witnessing our planet from the vastness of deep space. Now\, he returns to his alma mater to share that extraordinary perspective in a compelling and insightful conversation. \nFrom orbiting the moon to gazing back at Earth as a single\, borderless world\, Glover will reflect on how spaceflight reshapes the way we see our planet — and our responsibility to protect it. \nGlover will trace his remarkable journey — from his days as a student athlete in football and wrestling at Cal Poly\, to service in the U.S. Navy\, and ultimately to becoming a NASA astronaut helping to shape humanity’s return to the moon.
