The event will celebrate 25 years of local LGBTQIA+ philanthropy\, community leadership\, and impact across San Luis Obispo County.  \nSince its founding in 2001\, Growing Together has invested more than $400\,000 in grants supporting the safety\, well-being\, and visibility of LGBTQIA+ individuals and families throughout the region.  \nThe brunch will bring together nonprofit leaders\, advocates\, educators\, healthcare professionals\, donors\, and community members for a morning of storytelling\, reflection\, and celebration centered on the theme of belonging and community impact. The Fund aims to raise critical funds to support the upcoming grant program. All dollars raised at the event will provide timely and urgent support to non-profit organizations this fall.

Attendees will learn about home hardening\, defensible space\, emergency planning\, community resilience\, vegetation management\, and cultural approaches to stewardship of the landscape. \nInformation booths will be open throughout the day and staffed by organizations involved in wildfire preparedness\, emergency response\, and community resilience. Residents will have the opportunity to speak directly with subject matter experts\, learn about available programs and resources\, and ask questions specific to their homes and neighborhoods. \nThe event will also highlight several ongoing wildfire resilience initiatives taking place throughout San Luis Obispo. Residents can learn about the Firewise USA program\, free home wildfire assessments offered by the SLOFD\, AlertSLO emergency notifications\, and vegetation management efforts occurring in and around City open spaces. Information will be available on how neighborhoods can organize to reduce wildfire risk\, improve evacuation readiness\, and work together to build safer\, more resilient communities.

DESCRIPTION:The Jazz Vespers Concert Series returns to the historic sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church of SLO on Sunday\, June 14 at 4 pm with the Marshall Otwell-Inga Swearingen Duo.  Internationally-acclaimed vocalist and recording artist Inga Swearingen will be joined by the renowned pianist Marshall Otwell.  Inga has performed frequently on “A Prairie Home Companion” and teaches voice at Cal Poly and Cuesta College.  Marshall was the pianist and musical director for Carmen McRae for 8 years and has toured extensively with Freddie Hubbard\, Dee Dee Bridgewater and many others.
