fhmc stollmeyer family birthing centerThe Stollmeyer Family Birthing Center at French Hospital Medical Center has officially opened its doors as of Friday, May 12, 2017. The birthing center is now in full operation serving families in and around the Central Coast.

The expanded center contains eight private birthing suites, with each room offering labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum services to patients all in the same space. Other additions include a C-section suite directly inside the center, and a new waiting area for families.

Renovation for the Birthing Center began in August 2015, supported by a generous gift from the Stollmeyer and Ryan families along with other contributors.

“This expansion of our maternity services significantly enhances the clinical experience for our patients,” said Alan Iftiniuk, President and CEO of French Hospital Medical Center. “It represents another monumental step in our efforts to transform and modernize French Hospital. We are deeply grateful for the support of the Stollmeyer and Ryan families.”

The Stollmeyer Family Birthing Center includes: private patient rooms with birthing tubs, an updated perinatal nursery, attentive medical experts 24/7, a new waiting area for loved ones, dedicated C-section suite in Birthing Center, a centrally located nursing station, and a baby celebration wall,

With safety and environmental responsibility in mind, the Stollmeyer Family Birthing Center features individual temperature control, Lumicor light box panels, and LED lighting on dimmers. Each room includes commissioned local artwork to create a calming, relaxing atmosphere.

French Hospital Medical Center is designated as a Baby-Friendly Hospital.
