flavorofSLO2Flavor of SLO, a community event featuring tastings of local restaurants, wineries, and breweries, is returning on Sunday, May 3rd from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at the Jack House & Gardens in Downtown San Luis Obispo. Dozens of Central Coast businesses will come together on the grassy lawns of the Jack House & Gardens to sample some of their finest food and drink offerings to attendees. In addition to the tastings, the event will feature live music by Rio Salinas and Louie Ortega as well as raffles for both beer and wine packages. Tickets for the event are $45 presale and $50 at the door, and a limited number of students with valid ID’s can receive presale tickets for $35. In addition, tickets for the wine and beer raffles can be purchased for $50 each.

Attendees will be able to sample a wide variety of local cuisine. Vendors will include establishments such as Adelaida Cellars, Bang the Drum Brewery, Barrelhouse Brewing, Broken Earth Winery, Cal Poly Chocolates, Cambria Winery, Cass Wines, Castoro Cellars, Central Coast Brewing, Cottonwood Canyon, Delaney Brewing, Downtown Boba, Fattoush, Firestone Walker Brewery, Foremost Wine Company, Lotus, Old San Luis BBQ, Petra, Rebel Coast Winery, San Luis Salsa Co., See Canyon Hard Cider, Sidecar, Spikes, Splash, Tooth & Nail Winery and We Olive. The list of vendors is growing every day as the event approaches.

Flavor of SLO is a fundraiser for the United Way of San Luis Obispo County and was originally created 7 years ago as a Senior Project from Cal Poly students. This year, Flavor of SLO is being organized by the Rotaract Club of San Luis Obispo, a community based service organization for Central Coast 18-30 year old young professionals and a part of Rotary International. “We are so excited to partner with Rotaract | SLO for this year’s Flavor of SLO event because of their commitment to enriching and serving the San Luis Obispo Community. We feel that their values closely align with United Way’s, and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the future,” stated Rick London, CEO of the United Way of San Luis Obispo County.
