On May 21 the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce will host the 20th annual EXPO at the Expo.
Revamped in 2013 with a new name, the former Mixer Showcase is the Central Coast’s largest business to business trade show offering local businesses a chance to share their services with the public and other companies.
“Our aim always has been to provide an avenue to help our members gain exposure and grow their business by connecting them with other local businesses,” said SLO Chamber Director of Membership Jill LeMieux, the event coordinator. “It’s intended to not just be productive, but also fun.”
Created and hosted by the SLO Chamber at the Alex Madonna Expo Center at 100 Madonna Road in San Luis Obispo, the Expo will present more than 150 businesses and displays of local offerings including restaurants, salons and retailers as well as professional and business services.
Originally created to help smaller Chamber members that did not have the facility hold their own Membership Mixer, the current Expo now puts exhibitors in front of more than 4,000 potential customers in a single evening.
“We are offering local companies the opportunity to educate thousands of attendees as well as other local business leaders on their services,” LeMieux said.
This year’s masquerade themed event will once again feature a 2,400 square foot networking tent and a live broadcast by KVEC radio show host Dave Congalton. Complementary reusable bags will be given to the first 1,000 attendees.
The three-hour event is free with a business card and only $5 for non-business individuals. The doors open at 5 p.m. on Wednesday May 21 and the event runs until 8 p.m.
The event sponsors include Physicians Choice, Sesloc Federal Credit Union, Itech Solutions, KSBY, Madonna Inn and The Tribune.
