Monthly Membership Mixers
Membership Mixers are the third Wednesday of the month. They run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and are open house style. A business card is required for entrance and there is no cost to attend.
Membership Mixers are held at member businesses throughout the county. Locations and directions to the mixers are posted on slochamber.org, and shared on the Chamber Facebook page.
We encourage members to bring non-members and/or guests to attend one mixer to ‘check out’ the event and grow their understanding of our Chamber. After one attendance, they will be contacted regarding joining the Chamber.
Yes. Please note that Membership Mixers book several months in advance, sometimes even a year in advance.
Good Morning SLO
GMSLO is the fourth Thursday of every month at Grace Church (1350 Osos Street). Doors open at 7:00 a.m. for networking; the program begins at 7:30 a.m. and is completed by 8:50 a.m. We suggest that you arrive no later than 7:20 a.m. as attendance is between 275-300 members. Please note that in November the date is not the fourth Thursday due to Thanksgiving and is changed to either the fourth Tuesday or fifth Thursday depending on the year. Also, there is no December GMSLO. You can register for GMSLO at slochamber.org.
A soapbox is a purchased two minute ‘commercial’ placed between invited speakers. It also includes the ability to distribute fliers. Note that soapboxes can book months in advance. For $145 it includes:
- 1 breakfast
- 2 minutes on stage
- Flyer distribution (please see details under ‘Flyers’)
- Audio intro (arrive at 7 a.m. with CD only and see tech)
- Please note that PowerPoints are not permitted and that members are limited to one soapbox per six-month period
As a member you can pass out fliers at GMSLO. For $75 it includes:
- Physical Flyer distribution at registration table as attendees leave event
- Prominent Flyer distribution in the SLO Chamber Visitor Center for one week
- Digital distribution to that month’s attendees the morning of the event
Please contact Membership Services. We recommend that ribbon-cutting ceremonies be conducted Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. or 4:30 p.m. to ensure a successful event and allow for Chamber volunteers to attend the event.
No, as a policy we do not lend the scissors out but are happy to facilitate a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Yes, the Chamber’s membership mailing list can be purchased as either printed mailing labels or in an Excel spreadsheet. A one-time use agreement is available for interested members. Payment must be received in full prior to labels being created. We ask for 48-hours lead time to produce the labels. There are approximately 3,000 labels.
