Well over a century ago a number of SLO County residents and Chamber members got together to celebrate the successes of the past year. Now, more than 110 years later, the Annual Dinner has evolved into an elegant evening to celebrate the year’s accomplishments, celebrate our volunteers, recognize the outgoing board, install the incoming board and recognize the SLO Citizen of the Year.
We are seeking nominations for the 2017 Citizen of the Year. This prestigious honor is the sole award given at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner Jan. 20 in recognition of outstanding and unselfish service to our community.
Anyone may be nominated for the award; however, only Chamber members may nominate someone.
Please review the eligibility and selection criteria, which includes the list of previous Citizen of the Year award recipients, before nominating.
The deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27. Finalists are chosen by Chamber volunteers, and the winner is selected by the Chamber Board of Directors.
Please note that the nomination and selection process is entirely confidential. We ask that you keep your nomination confidential so feelings are spared should your nominee not be selected for the award. Likewise, the SLO Chamber will keep all nominations confidential, even after the winner has been chosen.
The winner’s identity will be kept closely guarded until the announcement by this year’s sponsor at the SLO Chamber’s 113th Annual Dinner on Saturday, Jan. 20.
